Understanding Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK Data Protection Act 2018, you have comprehensive rights over your personal data. This page explains these rights and how to exercise them with MembersHub.app.
Note: These rights apply to personal data processed by SHYDOG CREATIVE LTD as a data controller (your account data) and as a data processor (data you process through club hubs).
Your Data Protection Rights
1. Right to Access
You have the right to request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
What you'll receive:
- Account information and profile data
- Club details and content you've created
- Usage and activity logs
- Communication history
- Information about how your data is processed
How to request: Email hello@membershub.app with "Data Access Request" in the subject line. We'll respond within 30 days.
2. Right to Rectification
You can correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
You can update:
- Account details (name, email, password)
- Club information and branding
- Contact information
- Communication preferences
How to update: Most data can be updated through your dashboard settings. For other changes, contact hello@membershub.app
3. Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten")
You can request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances.
When this applies:
- Data is no longer necessary for its original purpose
- You withdraw consent (where consent was the legal basis)
- You object to processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds
- Data was unlawfully processed
Important: We may retain some data if required by law (e.g., financial records for tax purposes) or to defend legal claims.
How to request: Delete your account through dashboard settings, or email hello@membershub.app. Data will be deleted within 30 days.
4. Right to Restrict Processing
You can limit how we use your data in certain situations.
When you can restrict:
- You contest the accuracy of data (during verification)
- Processing is unlawful but you prefer restriction over deletion
- We no longer need the data but you need it for legal claims
- You've objected to processing (pending verification)

5. Right to Data Portability
You can receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format and transfer it to another service.
Export formats available:
- JSON (for technical users/developers)
- CSV (for spreadsheet applications)
- ZIP archive (for media files)
How to export: Use the "Export Data" feature in your dashboard settings or email hello@membershub.app
6. Right to Object
You can object to certain types of processing, including direct marketing.
You can object to:
- Direct marketing communications (always honored)
- Processing based on legitimate interests
- Processing for research or statistical purposes
- Automated decision-making and profiling
How to object: Update preferences in dashboard settings or click "unsubscribe" in emails. For other objections, email hello@membershub.app
7. Right to Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Examples:
- Marketing communications
- Optional analytics and cookies
- Push notifications
- Newsletter subscriptions
How to withdraw: Manage preferences in your dashboard or email hello@membershub.app. Withdrawal doesn't affect prior lawful processing.
8. Right to Lodge a Complaint
You can file a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

We will respond within 30 days (extended to 60 days for complex requests)
Verification Process
To protect your privacy, we need to verify your identity before processing requests. We may ask for:
- Account email verification
- Additional identifying information
- Confirmation through your registered email address
Fees
No fees for most requests: Exercising your GDPR rights is generally free of charge.
We may charge a reasonable fee for manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive requests.
